Manager

Katy joined Kern & Thompson in January 2026. She leads financial statement engagements
including audits, reviews, and compilations, with a focus on not-for-profit organizations. Katy
brings nine years of experience in public accounting, having worked with both commercial and
not-for-profit clients.

Prior to working in public accounting, Katy worked for several years as an accountant at a
Seattle-based not-for-profit organization. Prior to her accounting career, Katy spent six years
working directly with underserved youth at several Seattle-based not-for-profits, as well as two
years teaching English as a foreign language abroad. She is a member of the Oregon Society of
Certified Public Accountants and is licensed in Oregon and Washington. She received her
Bachelor of Science – Accounting from Central Washington University.

In her free time, Katy spends as much time outdoors as possible, hiking, camping, gardening,
and she is also an avid backyard birder!
