Partner

Katie is a Partner at Kern & Thompson, LLC, and has been with the Firm since 2016. Before coming to KT, she worked at a large accounting firm in Portland, gaining experience with a wide range of clients in the audit and consulting departments. 

Katie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Portland State University. She served as the Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society at Portland State, earning a first-place national award for creating and maintaining a journal of accountancy that was student written and produced. 

Katie has experience working on not-for-profit audits and with organizations subject to the Single Audit requirements, specifically in the social services, education, and housing industries. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants and also serves on the Not-For-Profit Strategic Committee through the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.

In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking new trails, gardening, and a wide variety of crafts including pottery.
