Senior Manager

Katie is a Senior Manager at Kern & Thompson, LLC. She previously worked for several years at a large accounting firm in Portland, gaining experience on a wide range of clients in the audit and consulting departments. Prior to becoming an accountant, she worked 7 years in the banking industry creating new relationships with clients, primarily focusing on business banking, private banking, and cash management.

Katie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Portland State University. She served as the Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society at Portland State during 2012 and 2013, earning a first-place national award for creating and maintaining a journal of accountancy that was student written and produced.

Katie has experience working on not-for-profit audits and with organizations subject to the Single Audit requirements, specifically in the social services, education, and housing industries. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.

In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking new trails and biking as an alternative mode of transportation.
